Hi, I’m Caelin G-S farmer and owner of Flax Hollow Farm in Coeymans, New York. I’m a farm kid and Hudson Valley native with passion for agriculture and beauty.

Flax Hollow Farm was started from a dream- to grow plants with the agricultural practices I believe and build a multigenerational farm business on my childhood family farm. So in fall of 2022 I quit my job in commercial agriculture to pursue this dream. 

As a kid we grew vegetables for both our personal consumption and for the market. Spending the season seed starting, transplanting, harvest and selling our produce at many local farmers markets. When I first left my job in commercial agriculture, I wasn't completely sure what I wanted to grow. Would I grow veggies or flowers? I feel as if flowers found me more then I choose to be a flower farmer. In our family garden I was always buying and planting at least a couple rows of cut flowers. Purely for the joy their beauty brings. 

So spring 2023 I went fully in on the flower idea. Decided to take over one of the fields on my family's farm to grow and sell flowers. I grew many new kinds of flowers and upped the scale on many of the flower varieties I had grown for fun in the past.  I pride myself on growing my flowers with mainly organic practices, minimal pest intervention and general passion for stewarding the land. I’m not the first person to cultivate this land, this soil and I don't want to be the last one to either. This past summer was a whirlwind of learning, networking and a whole lot of joy. 

I’m extremely excited to see what the 2024 season has in store for me. I’ll also be expanding our offering with more varieties and new flowers being planned for the 2024 planting. I’ll also be creating more ways for people to enjoy our flowers. Offering wholesale ordering for local florist and floral designers. My first CSA for our customers, on a farm flower stand and planning of our first farmers market appearance.
